Cambodia advances toward Universal Civil Registration

Cambodia has been making significant strides in establishing a robust Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system, marking a major step towards providing legal identity for all its citizens. A recent joint op ed by Dr. Top Neth, Director-General of the interior ministry’s General Department of Identification; Jo Scheuer, UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia; Romain Santon, Regional Deputy Director, Asia and Pacific CRVS Improvement Program, Vital Strategies; and Rachael Beaven, Director of the ESCAP Statistics Division, highlights some of these achievements and Cambodia’s unique journey.
