Samoa's Government Statistician recently came for a study visit to the Bureau of Registration Administration of Thailand (BORA). On April 5th, staff members of ESCAPs Statistics Division accompanied Mr. Sefuiva R. Muagututia of the Samoan Bureau of Statistics for a meeting with Mr. Suchart Thaneerat, the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Registration Administration and other BORA staff members.
Amongst other topics the meeting included in-depth discussions regarding the setup of the Thai CRVS system as well as a tour of the ID card production facilities and data storage facilities. The visit was part of ESCAP's efforts to facilitate and strengthen knowledge sharing between countries to support their work to improve CRVS systems.
